Real Estate Is Personal to Me
After more than 23 years in Colorado mountain real estate, I’ve learned that the best real estate relationships aren’t really about the transaction. They’re about understanding people, what they’re trying to accomplish, what matters to them, and how I can help them make the best decision for their situation.
That philosophy guides the way I work with every client. Whether you’re searching for a Steamboat condo, selling a longtime home, relocating to the Yampa Valley, or buying or selling a luxury property, my priority is the same: your goals and best interests come first.
Sometimes that means recommending that you move forward. Other times, it means telling you that I think the best decision is to wait or walk away. I’d rather give you candid advice than tell you what you want to hear simply to make a transaction happen.
Experience That Goes Beyond Steamboat
I’ve spent my entire real estate career working in Colorado mountain and resort communities. Before making Steamboat Springs my full-time home in 2020, I spent 18 years selling real estate in Summit County. That experience gave me a deep understanding of resort real estate, second homes, primary residences, investment properties and luxury properties at the highest end of the market.
Today, my focus is Steamboat Springs, but I also work with clients throughout Routt County and the greater Yampa Valley.
My approach is intentionally consultative. I don’t believe in simply opening a door because someone calls and asks to see a property. I want to understand what you’re looking for, why you’re looking for it, and what you’re ultimately trying to accomplish.
I take the same approach with sellers. Before we talk about putting a property on the market, I want to understand the property, your priorities, and what a successful outcome looks like to you.
A Higher Level of Service
When a seller entrusts me with their property, I believe I have a responsibility to represent it exceptionally well. I invest in professional marketing to give each property maximum exposure and put my clients in the best possible position for a successful sale.
For buyers, that commitment means doing much more than finding listings. I want my clients to understand the market, recognize opportunities, ask the right questions and identify potential concerns. Just because you can buy a property doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right property for you.
When it comes time to negotiate, my style is collaborative and creative rather than unnecessarily adversarial. I’ve built strong relationships with other brokers over the years, and those relationships matter, especially in a market like Steamboat. I believe a good transaction can protect my client’s interests while still allowing both sides to feel heard and treated fairly.
I also have the support of experienced administrative, marketing and transaction professionals, but my clients work directly with me. I stay personally involved throughout every stage of the process.
Why Steamboat
I’ve loved Steamboat for a long time, but what ultimately brought me here permanently was more than the skiing and incredible natural beauty. It was the community.
Steamboat has always felt different to me. Being a true destination and removed from the I-70 corridor gives it a different feel from many Colorado mountain towns. More than anything, I was drawn to the sense of community here. I wanted to be part of it, both personally and professionally.
Outside of real estate, you’ll usually find me enjoying many of the same things that draw people to Steamboat in the first place. I love skiing, hiking, biking, rafting and paddleboarding, spending time with my Golden Retriever, Molly, playing music, and catching live music around town.
Giving back is also important to me. I’ve been fortunate to support organizations and causes including LiftUp of Routt County, the Alzheimer’s Association, the local humane society and my church community.
The Relationship Doesn’t End at Closing
Some of my favorite client relationships have turned into genuine friendships. Years after a closing, you might find us skiing or hiking together, going for a bike ride, catching a concert, meeting for lunch, or enjoying a drink on a riverside deck. Clients also continue to call me for everything from a contractor recommendation to a question about what’s happening in the Steamboat market.
That’s exactly how I want it.
My measure of a successful transaction isn’t simply getting to closing. I want you to feel that I listened to you, represented you well and genuinely cared about the outcome. I also want you to feel completely comfortable calling me years later with a question or recommending me to someone you care about.
If you’re considering buying or selling in Steamboat Springs, Routt County or the Yampa Valley, I’d welcome the opportunity to learn what you’re trying to accomplish. Even if the right decision isn’t to make a move today, I’m always happy to be a resource.
