After a lifetime of visiting and falling in love with Steamboat Springs, John made his dream a reality in 2020 by making it his full-time home. Prior to that, he spent 22 years in Summit County, including 18 years helping clients buy and sell Colorado mountain and resort properties. Today, John is proud to live in Steamboat with his Golden Retriever, Molly, embracing the outdoor lifestyle and tight-knit community that make the Yampa Valley so special.

When he’s not working with clients, John can be found exploring the trails, rivers, and slopes—often with Molly by his side. He enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, paddle boarding, rafting, playing the mandolin, and giving back through local volunteer efforts.

With over two decades of real estate experience, John is known for his down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and no-pressure approach. I recently worked with John Madron for my purchase of a condo in Keystone. Prior to this purchase, I had been researching the market for quite some time and had compiled an extensive list of requirements for the ideal property. When my condo was listed, I contacted John and he immediately toured the property, and quickly created a video and 3D tour so I could get a true picture of it (as I could not view the property in person immediately). My work schedule can be tough, and John was extremely accommodating (emails/texts, calls after working hours, and meeting me on the weekend to tour the property). Throughout the negotiation and closing process, John was very responsive, patient with my questions (no question was too dumb!), and made my purchase feel special. While the property was not new, it was "new to me", and John went above and beyond to make sure my interests as a buyer were protected and that my closing was as smooth as possible. In addition, John proactively worked with my lender and listing agent to facilitate closing a full week early, which was an unexpected bonus (i.e. a few extra days to hit the slopes!). We originally met John while vacationing in Summit County early in 2012. When we returned in March 2013 John, thinking we may have returned for Spring Break, proactively contacted us to understand if we were still in the market for a vacation home. After meeting to discuss location, property requirements, and pricing John quickly went to work identifying properties in both Breckenridge and Keystone's River Run that offered excellent value for price. We settled on a two bedroom in River Run Village less than 250 yards from the gondola.
